Festival of the Wind

This week I’m excited about an invitation I received to be a presenter at the Festival of the Wind in Esperance on the 15th, 16th and 17th of March.

The theme of the Festival is The Nautical History of the Region and my book, Black Jack Anderson, is very much a part of that. There is a wonderfully creative proposal being put to the High Schools in Esperance that involves their students producing an improvised dramatization taken from the book. I will work with a production team including students, teachers and a consultant, Luke Robson, who has worked in theatre since 2000. Together we will develop a full-blown stage presentation, including props, backdrops,  costumes, special effects and narration, to be performed during the Festival. The students will be involved at every stage so it will be a great learning experience for everyone and good fun as well. Bonus!

During the Festival I will also be presenting a half-day workshop for local writers and doing some readings from Black Jack Anderson. If you live within striking distance of Esperance I hope to see you there.
