Perth Writer’s Festival is in full swing with lots of great sessions,  book launches, and all the usual networking opportunities.

Rose de Freycinet

That means it must be a year ago that a chance meeting with my friend and former editor, Erica Wagner, breathed new life into the story of Rose de Freycinet and set her on her current course around the world with Jose as the fly-on-the-wall narrator whose own story is so closely inter-woven with hers. My contract with the National Library is now signed and perhaps, by this time next year, I will be launching To See the World at the Perth Writer’s Festival? Publication is not due until April 2014, but I hope there will at least be some advance copies around by then. Bon voyage Rose et Jose.
